Lessons

Are you interested in learning to play the piano? I'm located in Wake Forest, NC and teach in my home or online.

I teach students of all ages and levels and include classical, jazz, improvisation, composition, and theory. My lessons are fun, engaging, and motivational.

I have a degree in Piano Pedagogy and have taught piano for over 30 years. I received Teacher of the Year award from Utah State University.

I'm the accompanist for the Northeast Piedmont Chorale and have served as the Composition Chair for NCMTA.

I love including all kinds of music in my teaching to motivate my students. I use method books with beginners but quickly transition them into a variety of music styles depending on their interests.

I am a published composer with Kjos MusicJackman Music, and Sheet Music Plus and my pieces are often on repertoire lists for state and national piano competitions.

Because of my love for composing, I encourage all of my students to write their own pieces. I have had several students place in the statewide NCMTA Young Composers Contest.

I provide at least 2 performance experiences a year. As a member of RPTA, my students are welcome to participate in local music festivals.
